Mrs. Linda June Weikert, age 85 of Prosper, TX, passed away March 31, 2023 in Prosper, TX. She was born on December 18, 1937 in Green Township, Ohio to Gerald and Hazel (Ailes) Shoemaker. On May 26, 1956, she married William Cloyd Weikert in Sidney, OH. Linda spent many years working, running the home and raising four children and excelled as an Executive Administrative Assistant in her later years. She was of the Methodist faith and attended Prosper United Methodist Church.
Linda loved reading, singing and spending time with her family. Volunteering was important throughout her life such as taking elderly to cancer treatments, charitable events with her social sorority, and volunteering at her church. And oh, how Linda loved sweets, especially chocolate and peanut butter ice cream! Bill and Linda spent their later years together as fulltime RVers, exploring and walking 10k Volksmarching events around the country.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Carla Weikert of Weatherford, TX and Mike and Janice Weikert of Oak Point, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Phil Reyes of Spring Hill, TN; sisters in law, Barbara Shoemaker of Sidney, Ohio, Sandra (Allen) Jones of Ripley, MS and Jean (Mike) of Sidney, OH; grandchildren, Billy Weikert and wife Sarah, Lana Dildy and husband Joby, Amanda Baker, Hannah Weikert, Jack Weikert, Laura Reyes, and Anna Reyes; and great-grandchildren Dana and Jenna Weikert, Lila and Olivia Dildy, and David Friedensohn . Her husband Bill (2005), parents, brother, sister and her daughter, Tamara Baker, precede her in death. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 3rd at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
