Linda Mitchell Gittle, age 70, of Allen, Texas, passed away December 17, 2007. Linda was born May 24, 1937, in Camden, New Jersey, to William Cottingham and Eva Beatrice (Perkins) Mitchell, IV. She had a passion for life, a love for family and cherished any and all friends. Caring and giving came easy to Lin through a strong belief in church and community. She was a committed volunteer with Meals on Wheels as well as trained to be in the Angels program at her church where she shared the love of Christ with homebound and nursing home members. She is survived by her four sons, their wives and eight grandchildren – John, Crystal, Adam, and Noah Gittle of Allen, Texas, Jeff, Linda, Jeffrey Jr., and Megan Gittle of Allen, Texas, Joel, Jari, Justin and Jayden Gittle of Manhattan, Kansas, and Jason, Marcy, Emily and Jenna Gittle of Attleboro, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her sister, Betsy Mitchell Mitcheson of Middletown Springs, Vermont and brother, William C. Mitchell, Jr. of Lecanto, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Adam Gittle, Jr., and sister, Sally Mitchell Hare. Lin was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Allen, Texas, where a memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 3pm, Thursday, January 10, 2008.
