Linda Faye Odle

February 28, 1926 - August 2, 2019

Linda Faye Odle of Allen, Texas passed away August 2, 2019 at the age of 93.  She was born on February 28, 1926 to Carl Murphy and Vida (Sadler) Murphy.  Linda was born and raised in McKinney, Texas and was a co-owner of the former Murphy’s Food Center where folks in the community were allowed to buy groceries on credit and have them delivered at no cost well before it was “cool” to do so.

She was known for her “classic style and beauty”. Linda loved to dance and could make you laugh in every conversation. Family holidays were always her favorite time where she showered the family with homemade pies, her not-so famous fried pies and “spiked nog”.  Linda was of the Christian faith.

She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Crockett of Allen, Texas; grandson, Bill Todd Tallant and wife, Lisa of Fallbrook, California; granddaughters, Alicia Hamby and husband, Craig of Prosper, Texas and Emily Crockett and spouse, Amy of Fort Worth, Texas; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Vida Murphy; daughter, Patricia Ann Church; and grandsons, Paul Wade Tallant and Richard Grant Tallant.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2019 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Thursday to pay their respects and to sign the register book along with leaving a message for the family on our website if you wish.
