IN LOVING MEMORY

Linda Darlene Linscomb

Jan 31 1952 - Dec 22 2021

Linda Darlene Linscomb, age 69, of McKinney, Texas, passed away December 22, 2021.  Linda was born January 31, 1952, in Lubbock, Texas, to Robert and Carolyn (Price) Jetter.  She married Park Linscomb on August 17, 1973, in San Antonio, Texas.

Linda served as a preacher’s wife for 47 years; 46 years in the Manchester, New Hampshire Church of Christ and a little over a year at the Rock Hill Church of Christ in Frisco, Texas. She led the women of the two congregations that she served with humble and unassuming grace and wisdom. Linda played a key role among the ladies at the Gander Brook Christian Camp (North Raymond, Maine) helping organize the Gander Brook Ladies’ Retreat, and was a chief fundraising force for the Gander Brook Women’s Association. Such service earned her great love, respect and appreciation among the churches of Christ in New England.

Linda also served the education community of Manchester, New Hampshire, at Manchester High School West for 26 years in various roles, the majority of which was spent in the administration office in a registrar’s role. Her efficiency, work-ethic, problem-solving, and computer skills were well known across the school district, earning her continued consulting work even during her retirement to McKinney, Texas.

In 2005 she and her husband Park received an award from Harding University (Searcy, Arkansas) for Outstanding Christian Service for their tireless work and attention to the churches of Christ, especially in the Northeastern region of the U.S.

Linda was loved by her family, known to her grandsons as “Nana.” She never tired of keeping up with family (both biological family and church family), always making sure to give more than she took in every relationship. She was a fiercely competitive card game player, obsessive iced tea consumer, and was a self-proclaimed connoisseur of romantic comedy movies. Her faith in God was the cornerstone of her time on this earth.

She is survived by her husband, Park Linscomb of McKinney, Texas; son, Adam Linscomb and wife, Meri, also of McKinney; grandchildren, Jackson Linscomb and Jordan Linscomb; sister, Sharon Cranford and husband, Bruce of Euless, Texas; brother, Robert Jetter and wife, Linda of Lubbock, Texas; and nieces and nephews, Keith Cranford and wife, Emily, Rebekah Kempe and husband, Mitchell, Tiffany Silva and husband, Joseph, Lauren Turner and husband, Matt, and Ryan Jetter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Carolyn Jetter.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. (CST), Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the Rock Hill Church of Christ, 9426 PGA Pkwy., Frisco, Texas, 75035; streamed online for those wishing to participate remotely at http://www.rhcoc.org/worship.html. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening, December 29, 2021, at Berkshire Chapel, 9073 Berkshire Dr., Frisco, Texas 75033.

In lieu of flowers, financial contributions can be made to Gander Brook Christian Camp at www.ganderbrook.org/donate.
