Linda Jean Britton

Miss Linda Jean Britton, age 66, of McKinney, Texas passed away December 23, 2006, in McKinney. She was born July 15, 1940, in McKinney to Ethol Thurmon and Jessie Jewell (Jones) Britton. Miss Britton was a telecommunication specialist for T.I., serving 26 years at the Richardson and McKinney locations. At Texas Instruments, Linda received many awards including Outstanding Performance Award, and was recognized as an Outstanding Employee. She was a very active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in McKinney, where she was head of the Divine Mercy Devotion. Additionally, she worked extensively with the church history. She is survived by her sisters, Ruby Scott and husband, Lynn of Austin, Texas, Betty Nitcholas and husband, Monty of Georgetown, Texas and Gail Wall and husband, Bill of Grand Prairie, Texas; nieces and nephews, Debra Schiffour, Don Scott, Danny Scott, Kent Nitcholas, Diane Simpson, Mark Nitcholas and Austin and Calen Wall; beloved cat, Crystal; and numerous other loving relatives and friends. Her parents, Thurmon and Jewell Britton; and nephew, David Nitcholas preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 28, 2006, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Dean Pratt officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Medical Center of McKinney.
