Lilla Jo Hardison

Lilla Jo Hardison of Plano, Texas formerly of Richardson, Texas passed away April 7, 2021 at the age of 97.  She was born on February 11, 1924 to Kelly Bounds and Essie (Bond) Bounds in Tehuacana, Texas.  Lilla Jo was known to family and friends alike as “Jo.”  She attended Westminister College in Tehuacana, Texas, and it was there that she met the man she would marry.  Jo married the late Conrad Ray Hardison on January 27, 1946.  They enjoyed 68 years of marriage before his passing in 2014.  She educated and mentored young minds as a teacher in the public school system for many years.  Jo was of the Methodist faith.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Jo is survived by her sons, Ken Hardison and wife, Tina of Fairview, Texas; Bob Hardison and wife, Karen of Richardson, Texas; and Rick Hardison and wife, Carol of Plano, Texas; grandsons Jason Hardison, Travis Hardison, and Cody Hardison; granddaughter Kristi Dophied and husband Freddie; great-granddaughters, Madison Arnwine, Haley Arnwine, and Delanie Dophied; numerous other loving family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Hardison; parents Kelly and Essie Bounds; sisters Lucille Meredith and Kelly Lou McCartney; and brothers Lawrence Bounds and Charlie Bounds.

In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of guests will be allowed to attend the funeral service.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Lilla’s obituary page by clicking on the following link:  https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/lilla-jo-hardison.  After the service, the recorded live steam will be available for viewing at the same link location.

Should the maximum number of guests be reached, those who would like to honor Lilla and show their support to her family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.

A “come and go” visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.  Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.
