Funeral Services for Lila Willow Brinkley Duncan, 103 year old Mabank, Texas resident, is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Her grandson, Mike Bartlett, will officiate. Burial will be in the Leonard Cemetery. Family visitation and viewing will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time.
Lila was born April 9, 1914 at Leonard. Her parents were Reece Larence and Martha Lula Driggers Brinkley. She married Charlie Forrest Duncan April 2, 1930. She was a homemaker, residing in Lawton Oklahoma for over 50 years, where she was a member of the Northwest Baptist Church. She also was a member of the Auxiliary of the VFW, the Benevolent Patriotic Order of DOES, the NCO Wives Club of Fort Sill, Oklahoma and the Military Order of the Cooties of the United States. She passed away at the Kemp Care Center in Kemp, Texas Monday, June 5, 2017.
Lila is survived by her daughter: Betty Ruth Sadowski of Mabank; her daughter and son-in-law: Barbara Jean and Ted Cobb of Camden, South Carolina; her sister: Helen Green of Leonard; her 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
