Letha Louise Coggin

Letha Louise Hartline Coggin was born on August 18, 1945 in Waxahachie, Texas to Taylor Newton Hartline and Letha Mae Caloway Hartline. She passed away on November 22, 2021 surrounded by her family at her home in Whitewright, Texas.

Louise known as “Grandma” by so many was a God fearing, Jesus loving-Mother, Grandma and Great Grandma. Louise loved spending time with her family, gardening, reading her bible and watching any John Wayne Western. Louise leaves behind a legacy of kindness and grace felt by so many throughout her life. Her personality was larger than life and her ability to bring laughter and smiles to so many will be greatly missed. Louise’s faith in Jesus Christ was the guiding light of her life. She is quoted to say “I want to be so full of Christ that when a mosquito bites me, she flys away singing “there is power in the blood”. She was a long time member of the Baptist faith and most recently attended King’s Trail Cowboy Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Ann Hooper of Whitewright; grandson, David Wayne Hooper, Jr and wife Trish of Whitewright; granddaughter, Naomi Anne Hughes and husband Kyle of Whitewright; great-grandchildren, Keira Rae O’Connor, Gabriel Lee O’Connor, London James Hooper, Jaxon Wayne Hooper, Lillian Grace Hughes, Logan Ryan Hughes, Paityn Faith Hughes, Presley Anne Hughes; ex-husband and father of their children, Walter Monroe Hooper, Jr. and wife Jackie Lynn. She was preceded in death by her parents; children, David Wayne Hooper, Sr., Taylor Wayne Hooper, Barbara Ann Hooper, and Mark David Hooper.

Graveside Services will be held 10:00AM Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Vittitoe Cemetery in Whitewright, Texas. Pastor Jason Norton will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kyle Nathan Hughes, Logan Ryan Hughes, Ryan Matthew Hughes, Matthew Scott Holcombe, Walter Monroe Hooper, and David Wayne Hooper, Jr.  A visitation will be held 6-8PM Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.
