Leslie Catherine Slattery

Leslie Catherine Slattery of Allen, Texas passed away on November 30, 2022 at the age of 63. She was born on August 4, 1959 to Dr. Kenneth Joseph and Geraldine (O’Kane) Barry in North Bay, Ontario, Canada.  Leslie grew up in North Bay, Ontario where she graduated from St. Joseph’s College in 1978.  She earned her associates degree in computer science from Loyalist College where she was awarded the Governor General Award of Canada.

Leslie was a devoted and proud mother and Nana.  She was recharged by nature, taking every opportunity to enjoy the beauty outside.  She was the ultimate hostess, who opened her home and heart to family , friends, and strangers alike.  She gave all of herself to make another smile, to make them feel welcome, to make them feel loved.

She was an accomplished runner.  She was passionate about her dogs, Hunter and Annabelle.  We know Leslie is hiking in Heaven with her first dogs, Mikey and Daisy.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Slattery of Allen, Texas; daughters, Sarah Oltmann and husband, Jonathan of Grapevine, Texas, Amanda Drew and husband, Corey of McKinney, Texas; and Laura Austin and husband, Benton of Melissa, Texas; grandchildren, Kyle Oltmann, Timothy Oltmann, Cael Drew, Bode Drew, Kennedy Passmore, Declan Austin, and Landry Austin; siblings, Mary Pat Barry and husband, Paul Bokenfohr of Edmonton, Alberta, Beth Kroetsch and husband, Paul of Burlington, Ontario, Brian Barry and wife, Danielle of Corbeil, Ontario, Ken Barry and wife, Magdalena of St. Albert, Alberta, Kevin Barry and wife, Nancy Promane of Aurora, Ontario, and Jamie Barry of Victoria, British Columbia; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Ann Marie Barry.

A memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  The service will be live streamed at https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/leslie-catherine-slattery.  After the service, the recorded livestream will be available at the same link location.
