Mr. Lesley Bumpass Owens, age 90, of McKinney, Texas passed away on March 11, 2004 in McKinney. He was born on January 4, 1914 in McKinney to John and Willie Mae (Bumpass) Owens. He was raised by his grandparents, Samuel H. and Nealie Bumpass. He married Leola Jones on September 29, 1935, in Greenville, Texas. Mr. Owens was a cook and a member of the First Church of God in Christ in McKinney. He is survived by his wife, Leola Owens of McKinney; son, Bobby James Owens of McKinney; daughters, Nealie Jackson also of McKinney and Margaret Berry and husband, Joe of Plainview, Texas; grandchildren, Reginald Jackson, Daryl Jackson, Adrian Owens, Warren Owens, Brian Owens and Michelle Berrry; and 8 great grandchildren. Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lesley B. Owens, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the First Church of God in Christ with Pastor John Blane and Superintendent J.E. Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
