Leonard LaRoy “Bigfoot” Richardson of Allen, Texas passed away on April 11, 2021 at the age of 71. He was born August 1, 1949 to David A. and Donna Mae Richardson in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Leonard graduated in 1967 from Woodlawn High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. He attended Northwestern State University on a football scholarship, playing all four years and graduating in 1971. After college, Leonard began teaching and coaching football at Leesville High School in Louisiana. After his time at Leesville, Leonard moved to Texas and entered into the automobile sales industry. He also began doing small construction projects which led him to starting his own construction company, Bigfoot Services. Shortly after moving to Texas, Leonard met and later married Linda Carol Mahan, They became husband and wife on July 18, 1981 in Allen, Texas. Leonard’s hobbies included racquetball and softball. He also enjoyed collecting sports cards and diecast collectables but his most and greatest joy came from spending time with his grandkids.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Linda Carol Richardson of Allen, Texas; daughter, Tonya Brewer and husband, Mark of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Mical Philpot of Flower Mound, Texas and Sarah Grace Brewer of Krum, Texas; sister, Linda L. Johnson and husband, Brent of Rowlett, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
A “come and go” visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial park for a committal service.
