Leonard Julien Fossier, Sr.

Leonard Julien Fossier, Sr. of Plano, Texas passed away on May 27, 2018 at the age of 86.  He was born on September 27, 1931 to Pierre Joseph Fossier, Sr. and Edna Jourdan Fossier in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Leonard grew up in New Orleans and attended St. Joseph’s Abby Seminary.  He married Mary Elizabeth Willoz on April 24, 1954 in New Orleans, Lousiana.  After leaving the seminary, he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era and the Korean Conflict retiring as a Chief Master Sgt. While in the Air Force, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of the Philippines and later obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California in Aerospace Engineering.  Leonard loved model trains, fishing, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, but he especially loved those grandkids.  He was an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

Leonard is survived by his sons, Leonard J. Fossier, Jr. and wife, Laura of Plano, Texas, James A. Fossier of Plano, Texas and David Fossier of Farmersville, Texas; daughters, Mary Ann White and husband, Gary of Plano, Texas, Elizabeth Cronin and husband, Tim of Kiowa, Texas and Ramona Rebecca Burton of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah, Eden, Brittany, Leonard III, Jacquelyn, James, Mark, Stefanie, Nicole, Clay, Catie, Ben, Ellie, Ethan, Sam, Lily, Rachael and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Caden, Ava, Emmett, James, Jacob and Alice; sister, Audrey Wedig;  and numerous other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Fossier; parents, Pierre and Edna Fossier; granddaughter, Christina Fossier; brother, Peter Fossier;  and sisters, Edna Connelly, Claire Giarrusso and Judy Bono.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75023 with Father Bruce Bradley officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.
