Leona Mae Lewis

June 14, 1934 - May 13, 2019

Leona Mae Lewis, age 84, of Frisco, Texas passed away on May 13, 2019 in Plano, Texas. She was born on June 14, 1934 in Conroe, Texas to Sadie Mae (Stewart) and Haley Earthman “Pappy” Jones. On September 10, 1952, Leona married Kenneth Wiley Lewis in Conroe, Texas. Leona was a member at Lebanon Baptist Church in Frisco. 

Leona loved the Lord and faithfully served the church wherever she lived. She loved her family and took great pleasure in spending time with them.  Quality outdoor family activities like going fishing, water skiing and camping were always enjoyed.  Leona was very proud of her kids, grandkids and great grandchildren in all that they achieved. She loved Ken and spent years supporting his work in the oilfield. They spent years playing 42 with friends, traveling “all over” in their RV, making homemade ice cream and enjoying life. Leona’s favorite hobby was shopping – she loved to shop!

Leona is survived by her children, Kendra Johnson and husband Benjamin of Prosper, Texas, Karen Houk and husband Monte of Tulalip, Washington, Randy Lewis and wife Sharla of Crane, Texas; grandchildren, Brandon Johnson and wife Laura, Erin Johnson, Jennifer Carter and husband Glenn, Whitney Sprague and husband David, Megan Rose and husband Alex, Kayla Jones; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Maggie Sprague, Anya Rose, and Clyde Carter. 

Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wiley Lewis; parents, Sadie Mae and Haley Earthman Jones, brother, L.C. Jones, and sister, Betty Crawford.  

A Funeral Service will be held at Lebanon Baptist Church, 9404 Lebanon Road, Frisco, Texas 75034, on Saturday, May 18, 2019 beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Ray Wilkins officiating. A Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow the services at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Drive, Frisco, Texas 75033.
