Leo Willis Younkin, age 83, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021, in Carrollton, Texas. He was born on March 31, 1937, in Pierre, South Dakota, to Vida (Reader) and Paul Younkin. Leo proudly served his country in the United States Navy, retired as Chief Petty Officer, and served in the Vietnam War. He obtained his associate’s degree and had a successful career in the military as an airplane mechanic. He married the love of his life, Toshi Nakamura, in Okinawa, Japan, on August 2, 1967, and they were blessed with three children.
Leo is survived by his beloved wife, Toshi Younkin; his children, Yoko Comport and her husband, David, Cathy Kamara and her husband, John, and Gary Younkin, all of Frisco; his grandchildren, James Comport, Robert Younkin, Jeremy Younkin, and Yoko Kamara; his great-grandchildren, Theodore Younkin, Alexander Comport, and Andrew Comport; his sisters, Nina Maxwell and her husband, Jerry, of Grass Valley, California, and Lucy Burdick and her husband, Eugene, of Fort Pierre, South Dakota; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vida and Paul Younkin.
