IN LOVING MEMORY

Leo Schumpert

Aug 18 1939 - Jan 14 2024

Leo Schumpert, 84, left this earth after a lengthy illness. A fighter until the end, he departed this earth on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Leo requested a cremation and that his ashes be scattered in one of his most sentimental spots.

Leo was born on August 18, 1939, in Denison, Texas to William Edward and Eunice V. (Marshall) Schumpert. Leo worked as a minister for many years, as a Christian radio program speaker, and also made extended evangelistic tours in Scotland and Ireland which brought him fond memories. He earned his Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Texas, and for a number of years taught at Collin College in Plano, Texas and for the U.S. Navy in the worldwide Pace Program. His teaching tours on the different naval ships literally took him around the world, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Having an astounding memory and many interesting stories of life, Leo's narratives were entertaining, none of which had to be exaggerated. Leo was an amazing scholar, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
