Lee Kent Stevens, age 75, of Allen, TX passed away on May 28, 2017, with his family by his side. Kent was born in Pampa, TX on March 15, 1942. He attended Kermit High School in Kermit, TX, where he graduated in 1960 as Salutatorian. During that time he lettered 4 years in baseball, 2 years in football, and 1 year in basketball. Kent initially attended college at Texas Christian University for his freshman year before transferring to Texas Tech, where he completed a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting in 1965; he later earned his CPA. Kent spent the majority of his professional career as an Internal Auditor at Gifford-Hill / Hanson in Dallas, TX before retiring in 2007 after 30 years.
In 1966, Kent met the love of his life Marianne on a blind date. They married two and half months after meeting. Kent and Marianne celebrated 50 years of marriage this past August. They spent many of their years in the Carrollton / Farmers Branch area before moving to Allen, TX upon retirement. Kent was a Christian, baptized at an early age and he and Marianne attended the Church of Christ.
He is Survived by his wife, Marianne Huggins Stevens; three children, Michael Lee Stevens of McKinney, TX, Stacy Suzanne Wobbe and son-in-law Aaron Wobbe of Allen, TX, Amy Kathleen Broughton and son-in-law Elton Broughton of Lindale, TX; grandchildren, Cade Stevens, Peyton Wobbe, Mason Wobbe, Jaydee Wagner, Lela Wobbe, Gwendolyn Wobbe, Evyn Wobbe and Sarah Broughton; great-grandchildren, Emma Broughton-Carrillo and Oliver Wobbe; one sister, Lynda Havard; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Leora Isbell Stevens; father, Bertie 'Bert' Lee Stevens; and step-mother Alice Stevens.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 2, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway N., Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening, June 1, 2017 at the funeral home.
