Leah Shea Bass, age 40, of Allen, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, January 6, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. She was born on December 12, 1982, in Dallas, Texas to Jack Thomas and Pamela Kay (Hayes) Burnard.
After graduating from University of Texas at Dallas, Leah worked at Progressive Insurance where she met her husband to be. After falling in love they never left each other’s side. They were married for time and all eternity in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Dallas, Texas Temple. Leah loved the life she made with her husband of 15 years.
Leah loved being a mother to her two beautiful children more than anything else. Her life was filled with gymnastic meets, baseball and basketball games along with numerous school and church events. Her children were the light of her life and provided her with immense joy. She taught her children to love others, love the Lord, to be selfless, show kindness to all and to pursue their passions in life.
Along with her volunteer work with Church, Leah was PTA President at her children’s elementary school. She worked numerous hours and made an impact in her community in ways that will be felt for years to come. With her quick sense of humor and unmatched kindness, she impacted all she met.
Leah had a special affinity for all of God’s creatures (rats/mice were the exception). Her love for animals led to rescuing more birds, bunnies, dogs, and cats than could be counted. Her dogs had a special place in her heart and they were truly all part of the family.
Leah is survived by her loving husband, Adam Bass of Allen, Texas; son, Judson Thomas Bass of Allen, Texas; daughter, Kiera Evelyn Bass of Allen, Texas; parents, Jack and Pamela Burnard of Allen, Texas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Melissa and Brandon McCulloch of Fate, Texas and Carrie and Tim Eger of Richardson, Texas; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and friends; and her two beloved “fur babies”, Stanley and Dottie.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 651 E Stacy Rd in Fairview, Texas with burial to follow at Fitzhugh Cemetery in Lucas, Texas.
