Lawrence Edward Brister

Lawrence Edward Brister, age 89, passed away February 12, 2021 at Royse City Medical Lodge.  He was born to Arthur Raymond and Ollie Frances Brandon Brister May 8, 1931 in Valley Creek, Texas. 

Lawrence graduated from Leonard High School.  He joined the Air Force in September, 1951 where he was an intelligence specialist during the Korean War. Lawrence was a deputy sheriff during the early 1960’s in Dallas County during the Kennedy investigation.  He wore many hats, but spent most of his career in management, including working in management at Parkland hospital and the purchasing department of Sears. 

Lawrence joined the Masons and became a Shriner.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but he truly loved playing dominoes.  He was so involved in dominoes that he travelled to multiple states and participated in the National Veterans Golden Age Games tournament where he won the dominoes division.    

Lawrence is survived by his children, Bruce BristerBeth and husband Randy AckermanJulie and husband Doug Penneman, grandchildren: Colby, Taylor, Patrick, Alaina, and Mitchell and great-grandchildren: Maddox and Paxton. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Raymond, William, Kenneth, Pamela, Grover, Clematene, Emma Dean, and Harold. 

Interment will be at DFW National Cemetery.
