Lawrence Albert Beasley

Lawrence Beasley was born January 4, 1944 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was the first of two children born to Cornelius and Vercie Adell Beasley.

Lawrence accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at an early age at First Baptist Church in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He later joined First Baptist of Hamilton Park in Richardson Texas. He was an active member and soloist of the world renowned First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park (100 voice) Male Chorus. Travels included Madrid Spain, Nassau Bahamas and Brazil.

Lawrence worked for IBM for over 20 years and was employed as a Purchasing Manager when he retired in 1987. After retirement, Lawrence took great pride in purchasing and operating Shiloh North Cafe in Garland, Texas for the next several years. He would later be employed by Home Depot and Verizon where he was frequently recognized as being a leader in sales.

Lawrence was a proud graduate of Faver High School where he excelled in academics and sports. He attended Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma where he majored in Business/Accounting.

Lawrence loved to sing and was blessed with an awesome tenor voice.For many years, he was an active part of many different church choirs. He was also an avid Oklahoma Sooners football fan and attended home games for many years. He loved the Texas Rangers and would often purchase tickets and share them with his co-workers, family and friends.

Lawrence’s legacy lives on through his four children; Pilar Dawn McCary, husband William (Carrollton), Kevin Lawrence Beasley (Carrollton), Marsha Gwen Beasley (Rockwall), and Yolanda Walton (Dallas); his grandchildren, Alecea Maria Rush, William Donald McCary, III, Jeremy Level Beasley, Warren David McCary, Joshua

Cornelius Beasley, Nicholas Cornelius Stanley and Lainey Joi Walton. He also leaves to cherish his memories his sister Carzetta Threats, several nieces and nephews, the mother of three of his children, Arlene Beasley, and numerous cousins and friends.

Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents Cornelius and Vercie Beasley and his brother, Alonzo Beasley.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Keller Springs Baptist Church, 3227 Keller Springs Road, Carrollton, Texas 75006. 

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 18, 2022 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
