IN LOVING MEMORY

Lawrence "Larry" Anthony Morrison

Oct 17 1946 - Jul 20 2019

Lawrence “Larry” Anthony Morrison of McKinney, Texas passed away July 20, 2019 at the age of 72.  He was born on October 17, 1946 to Edmond Joseph Morrison and Mary Alice (Chandler) Morrison in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a youth Larry earned the rank of Eagle Scout, scouting’s highest honor.  He was a graduate of Bishop Kelly High School in Tulsa and attended the University of Oklahoma.  Larry married Anita Hall on September 4, 1971 in Tulsa. He lived in many wonderful cities which included Tulsa, Oklahoma, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Richardson, Texas and McKinney, Texas.  Larry has also worked in Turkey, Argentina, South Africa, and Germany.

He was a space exploration enthusiast and greatly enjoyed following the ongoing efforts to understand our universe by NASA and other space agencies worldwide.  The date of his departure from this world serendipitously coincided with the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing.

In his work, Larry was on the leading edge of data processing as it became a fixture in modern business beginning as early as the 1960s.  He enjoyed following trends in computer hardware and software both at home and in the workplace.

During his lifetime, Larry participated in wrestling and played soccer.  He enjoyed watching sporting events and was an especially dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the OU Sooners. He was also an avid coin collector. Larry was of the Catholic faith.

Most people knew him for his dedication and honesty, as well as his warmly genuine and ubiquitous smile, love of jokes and humorous anecdotes, and unwavering loyalty to his family. Larry was always ready to laugh and enjoy the company of family and friends, and easily made friends with everyone he met.  He worked tirelessly for his beloved wife and children, and absolutely adored his grandchildren.

The sound of Larry’s laughter will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Anita Morrison of McKinney, Texas; son, Stewart Morrison and wife, Aon of Plano, Texas; daughters, Stephanie Luedde and husband, Gregg of Plano, Texas and Sarah Quillan and husband, Nathan of McKinney, Texas; grandsons, Nicholas Morrison and Alexander Morrison, both of Plano, Texas; granddaughters, Adrianna Quillan, Madalyn Quillan, Ashlyn Quillan, and Natalie Quillan, all of McKinney, Texas; brothers, Patrick Morrison and wife, Linda and Michael Morrison and wife, Dale; sister, Carol Murphy and husband, Ray; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his grandson, Joseph Morrison; brothers, Edmond Morrison, Jr. and Richard Morrison; and sister, Mary Jean Morrison.

A memorial service with a reception to follow will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church; 2700 West Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75023.
