IN LOVING MEMORY

Lawrence Houston Williams

Feb 12 1952 - Apr 02 2018

Lawrence Houston Williams, age 66, of Allen, Texas, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2018.  He was born on February 12, 1952 in Citronelle, Alabama to Patton Nathaniel and Sillsteen (Maddox) Williams.  Lawrence grew up in Citronelle and married the love of his life, Wanda "Cathy" Smith on March 28, 1970 in nearby Kushla, Alabama.  A week after getting married, he started his career in the oil industry.  Lawrence traveled the world working on off shore drilling rigs, even moving his family to The Netherlands for several years when he worked in the North Sea.  He worked hard to build his career and provide for his girls. He was the definition of hard work, loyalty, sacrificial love, and tenderness. He loved traveling, planting trees, making wine, and watching Alabama football.  Roll Tide!  More than anything else, Lawrence loved his family, especially his seven grandkids that lovingly call him "Pots."

Lawrence is survived by his daughters, Elisa Shaw and husband, Randy of Frisco, Texas and Niki Harris and husband, Kent of Waco, Texas; grandchildren, Camdyn Shaw, Britton Shaw, Patton Harris, Gates Shaw, McLaine Harris, Hagen Harris and Monroe Harris; brothers and sisters, Elanor Ballow of Prattville, Alabama, Sarah Brint and husband, Gary of Katy, Texas, Patsy Pierce of Leakesville, Mississippi and Timothy Williams of Mobile, Alabama; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda “Cathy” Williams; his parents; his brothers, John Williams and Mike Williams; and his sister, Mary Keyes.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.  Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 to pay their respects and to sign the register book.

Memorial contributions may be made the Food Bank at First Baptist Church, 201 East McDermott Road, Allen, Texas  75002.
