Trey Hansen, loving son, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away suddenly of natural causes on April 2, 2021. Trey was born March 18, 1961, in San Antonio and moved to Dallas at age 9. Attending Richardson schools, including Spring Valley Elementary and Northwood Jr. High, Trey graduated from Richardson High School in 1979 where he was an honors graduate and outstanding athlete. Upon graduation, he accepted a scholarship to play golf at Cameron University where he achieved further honors as an Academic All-American and All-American in golf and won a NAIA National Championship. After college and experience on the PGA’s “mini-tour“, Trey held a number of positions in the golf industry including head professional at many local clubs. In recent years, he was involved in the building and management of country clubs including Ridgeview Ranch and Gentle Creek where he served as General Manager and Director of Golf. Later in his career and after he had lost his left foot, Trey became active in “Limbs for Life“ which remained a passion for the rest of his life.
Above all, Trey was a family man who cherished his parents, children, and friends. In addition, he was a passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the University of Texas, Herrera’s Café, and country music. Quick witted, intelligent, handsome, and self-deprecating, Trey will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all those fortunate enough to have come into contact with him.
Trey is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence G. Hansen Jr., and son, Lawrence Curtis "Seth" Hansen. He is survived by his loving mother, Jo Ann Hansen; daughter, Nikki Hansen; son, Cody Hansen; sisters, Ginger Hurley (Dan) and Betsey Baker; niece, Carly Ortiz (Seth); and nephews, Aaron Baker, Devin Baker, Ryan Hurley; ex-wife, Pam Hansen; as well as countless loving friends.
