Mrs. Lavern Clay, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2007 in McKinney. She was born May 8, 1920 in Twitty, Texas to Herbert and Maude (Birdine) Reeves. On September 4, 1938 Lavern married T. J. Clay in Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Clay worked at Alexander’s in Amarillo as a Fashion Coordinator for 17 years. She and T. J. were Shaklee Coordinators for over 30 years. She was also a member of Church of Christ the Colonies in Amarillo. She is survived by her daughter Pam Schmidt and her husband Ed of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Kelly Camp and her husband Robert and, John Schmidt both of McKinney, Texas; great grandchildren, Sharra Spencer, Ashley Schmidt, Tanner Allen and, Carter Camp; great-great grandchildren, Madalynne Spencer and Trent Spencer; and a host of other loving family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Herbert and Maude Reeves; husband, T. J.; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers. Funeral Services will be held 11:30 Monday, April 23, 2007 in the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivey Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, Texas 79109. Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery, Amarillo, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Sunday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation Sunday evening from 5 – 7 PM.
