Lauretta "Rete" Olive Harper

Lauretta “Rete” Olive Harper, age 85, of Plano, Texas, passed away January 19, 2010, in Plano. Rete was born May 13, 1924, in Bowdoin, Montana, to Joseph and Laura (Traver) Wismer. She married George Harper in 1946 in Malta, Montana. Rete grew up in Montana. Her family moved to Kansas in 1952 where she lived for over fifty years. Rete worked at Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas as a production line worker for over twelve years. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, and was a member of the Presbyterian faith. She is survived by her children, Linda “Cookie” Preston and husband, Robert of Plano, Texas, George “Buck” Harper and fiancée Margery Wightman of Austin, Texas, and Benny James Camp and wife, Christine of Lynnwood, Washington; seven grandchildren, Michelle O’Neal and husband, Michael of Anna, Texas, Christopher Preston and his fiancée Marixsa Villatoro of Plano, Texas, Steven Harper and wife, Margie of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Chavaun Harper-LeBlanc and husband, Jason of Houston, Texas, Katherine Harper, also of Houston, Brian Camp and wife Shirley, and Darin Camp, both of Seattle, Washington; eight great-grandchildren, Steven Harper, Shawn Harper, Sionna Harper, Gia Harper, Tate LeBlanc, Tyler O’Neal, Tara Camp and Cierra Camp; sisters, Donna Olguin and Lily Kapphan, both of Great Falls, Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and a great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Dr. Danny Buster officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 7:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Friday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2010, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita, Kansas.
