Lauren Janell (McKinney) Kuban, a resident of McKinney, Texas, passed away August 5, 2025 at the age of 79. She was born on July 25, 1946, to her loving parents, Harwin McKinney and Ruth (Perkins) McKinney in Alexandria, Louisiana. Janell grew up in Alexandria, attending elementary and high school there. She continued her post-secondary studies at Northwestern University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Over the years, Janell worked in banks and healthcare. Janell met the love of her life, John Martin Kuban, celebrating their love and commitment to each other on their wedding day, August 10, 1968, in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Janell was a devoted wife and an incredible mother who poured her heart and soul into raising her children. Her life was a testament to love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family. Janell’s nurturing spirit created a home filled with warmth, care, and countless cherished memories.
Janell was of the Roman Catholic faith. She was deeply involved in her church community, where her faith and kindness touched many lives. Janell had a zest for life—she loved dining out, exploring new places through travel, and embracing every adventure with joy.
But above all, Janell treasured the moments spent with her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and her face would light up with every hug, laugh, and story shared. Her legacy of love and family will live on through all who knew and loved her.
Janell is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-six years, John Kuban, of McKinney, Texas; son, Mark Daniel Kuban and his wife Nicole, also of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Cru Kuban and Monroe Kuban; and a host of extended family members and friends, who will miss her and cherish her memory.
Janell was preceded in death by her parents, Harwin and Ruth McKinney.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 PM, Friday, August 15, 2025, at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 110 St. Gabriel Way, McKinney, Texas 75071.
The family will receive guests during a remembrance gathering from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Rosary Service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
