Mrs. Laura Alice Wilcox, age 84, of McKinney, Texas passed away August 3, 2009, in McKinney. She was born on January 16, 1925, in McKinney to Tinsley Richard and Dora Viola (Corley) Scalf. On April 4, 1942, she married Troy Wilcox. Mrs. Wilcox worked for Minyards Grocery Foods for 23 years in the meat market department. She was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church in McKinney. She is survived by her husband, Troy Wilcox; son, Harold Wayne Wilcox and his wife, Cathy of Irving, Texas; grandchildren, Jana Barrett of Winnsboro, Texas and Craig Wilcox of Sulphur Springs, Texas; great grandchildren, Cody Barrett, Hannah Wilcox, and Jake Wilcox; and sister-in-law, Pat Dillard of Savoy, Texas. Her parents preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2009, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Charles Waugh officiating. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
