With profound sadness, we share the passing of Laura Chaparro, who passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, surrounded by her children.

Laura was born on August 21, 1931, in Colombia to Luis Plata and Jovita Gonzalez. She married Efraim Chaparro on December 23, 1950.

She is survived by sister, Beatriz Plata Prada; daughters, Luz Englert and Maria Robeson; grandchildren, Patrick Englert and wife, Dolores, Laura Handy and husband Brent, and Laura Robeson; great grandchildren, Addison and Kayla Handy, Christopher Lolo and wife, Holly, Ryan Lolo-Englert and wife, Torie;  great great grandchildren, Theodore, Evelyn, Adley and Branden; and a host of other loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents Luis Plata and Jovita (Gonzalez) Plata; husband, Efraim Chaparro; sisters, Leonor P. Prada and Dilia P. Crespo; brothers, Luis Plata and Manuel J. Plata; sons in law, Frank Englert and Lee Robeson.

She was known for her passion for traveling and bowling.

Her life was a testament to friendship and her memory will be forever cherished.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
