Larry John "Button" Garrett

Larry John “Button” Garrett of Parker, Texas passed away on July 28, 2021 in Richardson, Texas at the age of 80. He was born on January 14, 1941 to George and Juanita Pauline (Estes) Garrett in El Reno, Oklahoma. Button grew up in El Reno, Oklahoma, Wyoming, and Plano, Texas where he graduated from Plano High School in 1960. He received his Associate degree in Agriculture from Tarleton State University. Button worked in sales, and he also ranched and raised champion cutting horses. He was an active member of Collin Creek Free Will Baptist Church. Button loved his horses, drinking coffee with his friends at Poor Richard’s Café, walking in the country and most of all spending time with his family.

Button is survived by his wife, Judy Garrett of Parker, Texas; son, James “Smokey” Garrett and wife Sarah of Pantego, Texas; son, Clay Estes Garrett and wife Candace of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Katie and Colton Garrett, and a host of other loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, August 2 , 2021 at Collin Creek Church in Plano, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
