Larry Melvin Norton

Larry Melvin Norton, age 73, of McKinney, Texas, passed away June 14, 2017.  Larry was born July 15, 1943, in Panhandle, Texas, to William Virgil and Maggie (Riddle) Norton.  Larry married Carol Cummings Webb on August 15, 1981, in Garland, Texas.  He was a member of Hope Fellowship in McKinney.

Larry attended Marietta High School where he ran track and played football. He was selected as All- Round senior boy in 1961.  Larry graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma, with a BS in Mathematics and a minor in Physics and Chemistry.  Larry was listed in Who’s Who in American Colleges & Universities and a member of the Blue Key Leadership Fraternity.  He graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa in 2001.

Larry had a 37 year career in Information Systems. He was a senior member of the technical staff at Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas, and retired in 2002.  Larry loved to travel and visited Europe, Argentina, Mexico, Jamaica, Israel and Russia for multiple business, vacation and mission trips.  Larry was a bible scholar and served many years in church leadership and teaching ministries, including serving as a church elder and as a group leader for an International Marriage ministry.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Norton of McKinney, Texas; sons, Larry A. Norton and wife, Jane of McKinney, Hunter Webb and wife, Weatherly of Boston, Massachusetts, and David Webb and wife, Andrea  of Palm Harbor, Florida; daughter, Tonya Fell and husband, Steve of Puyallup, Washington; grandchildren, Daniel Norton, Larry “Kenny” Norton, Isabella Norton, Quincy Webb, Chloe Webb, Ian Webb, Stephanie Stefanski, Kelly Stefanski, Tiffany Fell, and Steven Fell; brothers, Louis Norton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jerry Norton and wife, Lili of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and Ronnie Norton and wife, Barbara of Marietta, Oklahoma; and sisters, Linda Norton of McKinney and Marilyn Updegraff of Tishomingo, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Hope Fellowship, 1702 W. University Dr., McKinney, Texas, 75069.  Entombment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.
