Larry Morrison

Larry Glenn Morrison of Plano, Texas passed away July 15, 2020 at the age of 77.  He was born on June 9, 1943 to Oudrey (Buck) Lee Morrison and Daisy Elizabeth (Waller) Morrison in Sulphur Springs, Texas.  Larry was the first in his family to finish college earning his Physics degree from University of Texas in Arlington.  He married Barbara Jo Whitworth on March 15, 1968 in Garland, Texas.  Larry worked for LTV in Grand Prairie, Texas where he was assigned to the control room at NASA in Houston during the first moon landing. He and Barbara moved to California in 1973 and rather quickly decided to come back to Texas!  He started working for Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas, in 1977, continued his career as a systems engineer and eventually retired from International Business Machines, IBM in 2013.  He had a passion for solving problems regardless of complexity.  Larry was of the Baptist faith and the rock of his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Barbara Morrison of Plano, Texas; daughters, Karen Spence (married to Tip Spence) of Flower Mound, Texas and Tammy Fraley (married to Chris Fraley) of Cumberland, Maryland; grandchildren, Mike, Taylor, Will, Sam, Ben, Jacob and Christian; brother, Gary Morrison; sister, Lana Duncan; and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Rita Gracey.

In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, and will also be live streamed on the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Facebook page and a recorded video will be available following the funeral service on Larry’s obituary page.

However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor Larry and show their support to his family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.
