IN LOVING MEMORY

Larry Glenn Cain

Feb 25 1949 - Sep 29 2026

Larry Glenn Cain, 77, passed away on September 29, 2026, in Tom Bean, Texas. He was born on February 25, 1949, to parents Cecil and Patsy (Pennell) Cain in Sherman, Texas. Larry married Marie (Kirchenbauer) Cain September 26, 1971 in Gainesville, Texas.

Larry will be remembered by his daughter, Michelle Payne (Jeremy), Kathy Cole (Laramie) and Jaimie Cain (Kevin); grandchildren, Emily Payne, Jeremy Payne Jr (Kelsea), Randi Ellis (Tanner), Kendal Cole and Wade Cole; great grandchildren, Gus and Ginny Ellis; Siblings, Ricky Cain, Mark Cain and Debra Cox; Aunt Brenda Dobbs; Companion, Linda Wadford.

Larry was one of those rare, truly kind-hearted souls who never met a stranger. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, like they had known him forever. Once you started talking with Larry, you could easily sit for hours listening to his stories about the good old days. And he always had a story to tell. Larry loved the simple things in life. He loved fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors. He took great pride in his garden, growing so much that there was always plenty to share. It wasn’t unusual for Larry to grow enough to feed not only his own family, but half the neighborhood too. Giving to others came naturally to him. If he had it, he would be happy to share it. His family was his greatest treasure. Larry loved his girls dearly, and nothing made him prouder than his five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. They brought a special kind of happiness to his heart, and he loved watching his family grow. Larry was also a hardworking man who took great pride in doing his job well. He spent more than 50 years behind the wheel as a truck driver, traveling more than 2 million miles during his career. Even after all those miles and all those years, he maintained a perfect driving record—a testament to the dedication and responsibility he carried with him wherever he went. Numbers and accomplishments can only tell a small part of Larry’s story.

The people who knew him will remember the man behind them: the man with a kind heart, a good story, a love for the outdoors, and a willingness to lend a hand. They will remember his laughter, his generosity, his stories about days gone by, and the way he could make a stranger feel like an old friend. Larry lived a life of hard work, family, friendship, and giving. He left pieces of himself in the lives of so many people, and those pieces will remain long after he is gone.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of the family and friends who were blessed to know him.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marie Cain; parents, Cecil and Patsy Cain; uncles, Wilbur Pennell, George William Teague and Tim Dobbs; Nephew, Kevin Dobbs; Neice, Jennifer Kirchenbauer; Cousin Georgie Teague and sister-in-law, Vicky Cain.

The family would also like to send a heartfelt thank you to First Texas Home Health of Whitesboro and Home Hospice of Sherman for the compassionate, loving care you gave our dad. Your kindness brought our family comfort and peace, and we will always be grateful.

His Memory will forever remain a blessing to those who knew him.
