Larry Cornelius Glass

Larry C. Glass, the son of Lochinvar Amborse Glass Sr. and Mary Jane Morrow Glass, passed away and went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 26, 2018.  He was born in Farmersville, Texas on January 25, 1920.  His twin brother, Barry Armenius, died as an infant at six months of age.  Larry grew up in Farmersville and graduated from Farmersville High School in 1938.  As a teen, he worked at the old Farmersville onion shed for 15 cents an hour.  He was proud of his first full time job that paid 9 dollars a week.   

Before WWII, Larry installed Nordon bombsights in B24 bombers in San Diego, California.  Later, he took army basic training in the Horse Calvary in Ft. Riley, Kansas.   Larry was a WWII army sergeant and served as a medic and a clerk for three years in North Africa and Italy.  Following the war, he married Miriam Nell Keys on June 2, 1946.  Nell subsequently worked to put him through school.  He attended East Texas State Teachers College and received his DDS from Baylor University College of Dentistry in 1954.  He practiced dentistry for 40 years in Arlington, Farmersville and Greenville, Texas.  

He is survived by three sons:  Mr. Barry Glass of Plano, Dr. Anthony Glass and wife Dr. Donna of Plano, and Mr. Michael Glass and wife Cathy of Mission, Texas; his two grandchildren: Dr. Rebecca Glass of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mr. Grant Glass of Mission, Texas.  He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, six sisters, and his wife.    

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home, 107 N. Washington Street, Farmersville, Texas 75442.
