Larry Carl Carr, age 70, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on October 24, 2017. He was born in 1947 to Carl and Virginia (Houston) Carr in Kansas City, Missouri. From racing cars to jumping out of planes, Larry was always the adventurist.
Larry graduated from the University of Missouri at Rolla, where he received his bachelors of science degree in mechanical engineering. Larry became an expert in the water treatment business, holding several different positions across multiple companies and making a significant impact to the folks he met along the way.
Once in retirement, Larry quickly moved to McKinney to be closer to his granddaughters. Every Saturday, you could find him on the sidelines cheering on the girls with a big smile. During the week, Larry could be found on the golf course (short and in the trees). While in retirement, Larry took up travelling and set out to see the world. He made the most of his time in retirement, but most importantly took every opportunity to spend time with his granddaughters.
He is survived by his daughter, Devon Carr; son, Ty Carr and wife Tina; granddaughters, Taylor Carr, Tristyn Carr, Tatum Carr; sister, Vivian Ballew and husband Chuck; many other loving relatives and friends.
Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Dotte Carr; parents, Carl and Virginia Carr; sisters, Vicki Dorlac and Debbie Wienke.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway N., Allen, Texas 75013. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for a visitation, one hour prior to the service, Friday morning at the funeral home.
