LaNona Elaine Bunch

LaNona Elaine Bunch of Allen, Texas passed away on May 5, 2022 at the age of 82. She was born on June 18, 1939 to Lloyd and Helen (Stingley) Welch in Clearfield, Iowa. Her family moved to Kansas City, Mo. while she was in Elementary school and she lived most of her life there.  Elaine graduated from Center High School in 1957 and keeping in touch with all her school friends became her lifelong passion. She played an important part in planning all the high school Reunions and attended them regularly.

Elaine married Harold Sherman Bunch on September 30, 1978  in Overland Park, KS.  She worked many years in the insurance business and enjoyed time with her family and traveling with her husband.  In 2014, Elaine and Harold moved to Allen, Texas to be closer to her children, grandkids, and great grandkids.  Elaine was an avid sports fan and loved Kansas Jayhawk basketball, Kansas City Chiefs football and Kansas City Royals baseball.   

Elaine was a loving and involved mom and grandmother.  She is survived by her husband, Harold Bunch of Allen, Texas; children, Cheryl Keating and husband, Michael of Allen, Texas, Jerry Krell of Plano, Texas, John O’Donnell of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jacqueline Smith and husband Mike of Independence, Missouri; grandchildren, Alyssa Densham and husband, John, Jenna Keating, Amanda Taylor and husband, Willy, Tyler Keating, Kayla Fawley and husband, Evan, Wendy Krell, Chance O’Donnell, Amanda Keith, Krysta Matthews, and Dakota Matthews; great grandchildren, Jettson, Keegan, Coraline, Marianne and Caroline; brother, Terry Welch of  Kihei, Hawaii; sister, Sherri Steele and husband, Jim of Kansas City, Missouri; and numerous other loving family and friends.

LaNona was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Jason Krell.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  At the request of family members, donations may be made to Jason's Beacon and information about the foundation as well as donations can be viewed at  www.jasonsbeacon.org .
