IN LOVING MEMORY

Lailone Simmons-Taylor

Jun 09 1997 - Apr 12 2017

Lailone Uknique Simmons-Taylor was born on June 9, 1997 in Spokane, Washington to Anna Taylor and Corey Simmons.  From the moment Lailone was born she shared an unbreakable bond with her mother whom she lived alone with until the age of 2.  In June of 2000, Lailone and her mother moved to San Diego, California where her mother met and married Lailone’s “step-father” Larry Taylor, who she lovingly referred to as her father until her untimely passing.

Lailone was naturally a patient, sensitive and loving child and was always known by her signature bow-legs and pigeon feet.  But what grasp people’s attention more than her outward appearance was her innate ability to make you smile easily and to turn your bad days into good with just one hug. As a young child, Lailone was often found talking to her stuffed animals, reading, coloring or writing stories.  She begged for a younger sibling to play with and in 2002 Lailone’s younger brother Turon joined the family. She instantly dubbed him as “her baby”; four years later her youngest brother Tyson joined the family and once again Lailone took over the role of “mother” to her baby brother.  Lailone loved music, art and challenging herself to grow spiritually daily as she could often be heard sharing her words of encouragement with her siblings, parents, friends and social media.

In March of 2014, Lailone was diagnosed with Raynaud’s Phenomenon and also a rare disease called Scleroderma which caused her to undergo 6 rounds of infusion to slow down the progression. Lailone never wanted this disease to define her so she would oftentimes keep it to herself unless the pain became too unbearable.  Throughout her illness, Lailone maintained an A/B average at Allen High School where she graduated from in 2015. She also worked 30+ hours a week at her job and poured out love and joy into every person she came in contact with.  You could often see Lailone with a smile on her face and her make-up so flawless that strangers would stop and ask if she had it professionally done.

Lailone was well-known in the Allen community due to her beautiful smile, intelligence, willingness to help and her humble demeanor with all she came in contact with.   Lailone dreamed big, loved hard and spread joy wherever she went.  She was an amazing, loving and sincere daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter but most importantly best friend to EVERYONE.

Lailone leaves to cherish her memories: mother, Anna Taylor; fathers, Larry Taylor and Corey Simmons; brothers, Turon and Tyson Taylor; sisters, Simone, Mariah, Makayla and Maya Simmons along with a host of loving family and friends to also cherish her memory.  She also leaves behind her family pet Toby and her “fur-baby,” whom she adored, Tito.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas.
