Laci Dawn Heckadon passed away on July 18, 2026, at the age of 43. She was born on August 2, 1982, and will be remembered as an amazing wife, devoted friend, and a truly free-spirited soul.
Laci had a radiant presence that could light up any room the moment she walked in. She had a natural gift for making people laugh through her humor, playful spirit, and unforgettable storytelling. Intelligent, creative, and capable, she approached life with confidence and heart, always ready to take on whatever she set her mind to.
Her love for animals was something truly special. Animals seemed to instantly trust her, sensing the kindness and warmth she carried. Laci also had a deep love for caring for others—she treated everyone in her life like family. Whether through her incredible cooking that brought people together or her beautifully decorated home that reflected her vibrant personality, she created spaces filled with comfort, joy, and love.
Above all, Laci had a way of making people feel good simply by being around her. That was her gift—one that will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Over the past several years, Laci faced health challenges with strength and resilience. Despite everything, her spirit remained bright and unwavering.
Laci is survived by her loving husband, James Heckadon; her stepdaughters, Cana Heckadon and Kaylin Blackmore; her mother-in-law, Diana Heckadon; her sisters-in-law, Jamie and Heather Heckadon; her father, Joe Mai; her mother, Lori Pickering, and stepfather, Vern Pickering; her brothers-in-law, Robert and Christopher; her siblings, Janelle, Jerrod, Derek, and Andrew; her cherished nieces and nephews, Braden, Jaxson, Kinsley, Killian, Emmalee, Jake, Hillary, Macy, Miles, and Margo; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Laci was deeply loved by her husband, who shared a special bond with her, often reminding each other, “always, always.” She was his world, and her memory will forever live in his heart. May she rest in peace with the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
