Mrs. Kuniko “Kay” Houdek, age 64, of Allen, Texas, passed away January 18, 2005, at North Central Medical Center in McKinney, Texas. She was born September 18, 1940, in Tokyo, Japan, to Kenosuke and Kikue Ise. She married Benjamin Houdek in 1965 in Chicago, Illinois. Mrs. Houdek was a homemaker and was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by her husband, Benjamin Houdek of Allen, Texas; children, Richard Houdek of Fort Worth, Texas, Amey and Dr. Martin Jones of Allen, Texas, Stephanie Houdek of Dallas, Texas, Frank Houdek and Elizabeth Houdek, both of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren, Monika Houdek, Hana Marie Jones, Ryan Jones and Kyle Jones; sister, Yoshie Cobey of Japan; brothers, Hisayuki Ise Nobunori Ise, Yukinori Ise, Shichiro Ise and Hirosato Ise, all of Japan. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Houdek; and brothers, Hisanori Ise and Hiroshi Ise. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 22, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Plano, Texas. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:30 PM, Friday, January 21, 2005 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
