Kristen Patrick Gaus of McKinney, Texas, passed away quietly on February 7, 2018, at Medical City McKinney in McKinney, Texas at the age of 50. He was born February 25, 1967, to Robert and Mary Lou Gaus in Washington, Pennsylvania. Kris lived his early years in Washington making a wealth of friends, being a fresh faced kid and attending the schools of Trinity ISD. His family relocated to Friendswood, Texas in the early 80s where he graduated from Friendswood High School. Kris completed his bachelor’s degree at Southwest Texas State University and his master’s degree at the University of Arizona. His career with AEP Power allowed him the responsibility of air permitting for new and existing power plants throughout the southwest. He was considered an expert in his field of Air Quality. Kris later moved to McKinney where he lived for twenty years.
He is survived by his son, Robert Austin Gaus; sisters, Lisa Brooks (James) and Lynnette Wise (Rick); brother, Kirk Gaus (Jamie); nieces Maredith Laude (Josh), Abbey Harpole (Roy); nephews, Joel Brooks, Connor Gaus and Alex Gaus; and four great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday February 25, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. An inurnment will be held at Amity Methodist Church Cemetery in Amity, Pennsylvania at a later date.
