Kody Lee Spies died unexpectedly October 29, 2024, at the age of 44, in Anna, Texas. He was born on December 1, 1979, at Hahn Air Base, Germany to Karen Lynn Spies (Griffin) and Christopher Lee Spies. He graduated from Southwest High School in Fort Worth, Texas.
After graduation Kody moved to Anna where he lived with his grandparents. His love for cars, farming, and family grew with his Papa Ken. He worked for North Central Ford as a porter and wash tech before moving on to Bob Tomes Ford where he mastered his craft of car repair, and became a lead technician for over 20 years,
Kody’s life and passion was his family in addition to farm life. When he wasn’t repairing a car, you could find him supporting Griffin and Karaline in sports, school, or an Ag event. He always had a kind heart and never met a stranger, and was always there to help others in need. At an early age he loved playing with cars and tractors, taking them apart and putting them back together, which led to the career he so enjoyed. He loved his family more than life itself, but his true love was Barbara who was always there beside him in everything he did. He also loved to grill and was best known for his pork butts and ribs.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Allan Spies, his children Griffin Ford Spies and Karaline Jo Spies, his brother William Carson Spies, grandmother Saundra Jo Griffin, and many other loving relatives and friends.
Kody is preceded in death by his infant sister, Kara Lynn Spies, grandparents William Kenneth Griffin, Johnnie Dale Spies, and Ford Lee Hody Spies.
