IN LOVING MEMORY

Kirk Matthew Strenger

Jan 03 1971 - Feb 17 2018

Kirk Matthew Strenger, age 47, of McKinney, Texas, passed away surrounded by family, Saturday, February 17, 2018, after a courageous and faith-filled battle with colon cancer.  He was born January 3, 1971, in Denver, Colorado, to Wayne Donald and Sandra Kay (Emerson) Strenger.  Kirk married Brittany Slater in Denton, Texas, on October 10, 2010.

Kirk was a loving, family-oriented father and husband. He was always quick to smile and willing to selflessly help others, regardless of his own circumstance.  Kirk embraced life and one of his biggest joys was spending time with family and friends. He was loved by many and he made a lasting impact on every path he crossed.  His goal was to encourage people to appreciate the important things in life and his servant heart reminded everyone of their continuous blessings, particularly friendship and, of course, football.

Kirk is survived by his devoted wife, Brittany; his children, Jackson and Allison; his parents, Wayne and Sandy of Plano; his siblings, Kelly Lacey (William), Jill Gerard (Lance), Michael Strenger (Cheryl), Amy Griffin-Strenger, Ryan Strenger (Shannon), Steve Strenger (Sona), Jeffrey Strenger, Lisa Harris (John), Kent Strenger (Deanna), Mark Strenger (Michelle), Scott Strenger (Lori), Brett Strenger (Mira), Gregory Strenger (Aly), Bradley Strenger (Michelle), and Matthew Strenger (Shelby); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family is so grateful for the love, kindness, and generosity of so many friends and community members who supported them throughout Kirk’s treatment.

The funeral service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 1701 E. Park Blvd., Plano, Texas, Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow.  There will be a visitation prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m.   Committal will be at 2:00 p.m. at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway N., Allen, Texas.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Jackson and Allison’s college fund.  www.gofundme.com/collegefundforkirkskids

Kirk touched many lives during his short time with us.  He will be undoubtedly missed and always remembered.
