Kinh Huy Do

Kinh Huy Do passed away on January 20, 2024, in McKinney, Texas at the age of 65. He was born to Vinh Quang Do and Nguyet Thi Tran on June 25, 1958, in Vietnam.

Kinh grew up in Saigon, Vietnam. He escaped the country when he was 24 years old and settled in Canada in 1982. He lived in Winnipeg then Toronto with his family, where he graduated from Ryerson Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Kinh worked many jobs to support his siblings and parents as they immigrated to Canada.  In 1993, he moved to Ottawa to work as a Telecom Software Engineer at Nortel, where he was an expert in his field. He met and married his beloved wife Maria in 1995 and they had two children, a son Dr. Dang-Huy Do and a daughter Bao-Doan Do. In 2003, he and his family moved to the United States where they settled in the Allen, Texas community for 20 years.  Kinh had many hobbies including photography, painting, and automobiles. Kinh was an amazing father, was very involved with his family activities, and never missed any of his kids’ sports games.  To his colleagues, Kinh was an excellent and hard worker who always led and helped others. He was a selfless and spiritual man who exuded a positive aura and spread joy to those around him.  His impactful life will always be remembered by those around him.

Kinh is survived by his wife, Maria Trinh; son, Dr. Dang-Huy Do; daughter, Bao-Doan Do; father, Vinh Quang Do; mother, Nguyet Tran; sister, Lan Do; sister, Mai Do; brother Chuc Do; brother Tinh Do; brother Thai Do; brother Hoang Do; brother Duc Do; brother Dau Do; sister Hoa Do; sister Dao Do.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2024, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 North Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas 75002. The service will also be live streamed and can be viewed by clicking on the following link:  https://www.facebook.com/stjudesacraments

Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday from 3:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Rosary service will begin at 7:30 p.m.
