Kimberly "Kimmie" McDavid passed away peacefully at the age of 60 on March 7, 2024, after bravely facing early-onset Alzheimer's. She was surrounded by her loving family as she departed this world to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on August 1, 1963, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Dr. Peter J. Palmisano and Joan Palmisano. She lived in Palm Beach County, Florida, until she moved to Tyler, Texas, at eleven.
Kimberly attended T.K. Gorman High School, where she was a National Honor Society member, a distinguished American High School Student Honoree, member of the Junior Symphony League of Tyler and a cheerleader. She diligently pursued higher education, earning her B.A. in finance from the University of Texas in Austin in 1986. Kim was a member of both U.T. Finance and International Business Associations and a cherished member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, where she served on the social committee and as East Texas Rush Chairwoman. Kimmie was a Lady in Waiting at the Tyler Rose Festival in 1982 and an active member of the Republican Party of Texas, member Junior League of Austin & Dallas, and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Association. While in Austin, she fostered lifelong friends and met the love of her life, David.
This Love Story for the Ages began on April 29, 1989, when Kimberly exchanged vows with her soulmate, David McDavid, in Tyler, Texas. Their union marked the beginning of the greatest love story ever lived, highlighted by love, commitment, and unwavering devotion to one another. Kim's career included Merrill Lynch Houston, Pazzera Capital Management, Texas Western Mortgage, and Wealth Management Advisor at UBS Paine Webber in Austin. She received her dream job with the birth of Mason & Mulvey. Kim cherished her role as a doting mother to Mulvey and Mason McDavid, whom she regarded as the greatest achievements of her life.
Her devotion to her family defined Kimberly's life. She dedicated her time and energy to nurturing her loved ones and creating a home filled with warmth, love, and laughter. Her selflessness and compassion touched the lives of all who knew her. It was widely known that Kimmie preferred making memories with her family above all else. She was an avid water and snow skier and enjoyed hiking, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, and off-roading with David.
Kimmie's happy place was Snowmass, Co., where she and her family spent many winters and summers. While there, Kim lived the Roaring Fork Valley lifestyle, which prioritizes a deep connection with nature. She was known throughout the community for her seasonally adored snow sculptures built on the Adams Avenue ski run just above Snowmass Mall. Her passion in life was entertaining and maintaining meaningful relationships with her friends. She often expressed her love through thoughtful gifts and the intentional giving of her time. Kimmie will be remembered for her boundless optimism, love for adventure, and fierce determination to live life to the fullest.
Kim was a member of Saint Monica Catholic Church in Dallas and a faithful servant of God. She was also a committed volunteer at the Episcopal School of Dallas, the Dallas Alzheimer's Association (where "Kim's Krewe" was a top fundraising team), and the A.W.A.R.E. Foundation (home to Kim's Purple Coat of Hope).
Kimberly will be eternally celebrated as a devoted wife, loving mother, darling daughter, cherished sister, and loyal friend. Her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and brilliant smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Kim is survived by her beloved husband, David McDavid Jr. of Dallas, Texas; son, Mason McDavid (Danielle Kar) of Austin, Texas; daughter, Mulvey McDavid of Dallas, Texas; mother, Joan Palmisano of Tyler, Texas; sister, Angela Bird (Tony) of Austin, Texas; brothers, John Palmisano of Tyler, Texas; and Pete "Chip" Palmisano of Hobe Sound, Florida; her best furry friend, "Cupid" and her two granddogs; as well as numerous cousins nieces, nephews and other close family and friends.
