IN LOVING MEMORY

Kimberly "Kim" Knesek Dewailly

Oct 11 1981 - Jan 06 2024

Kimberly “Kim” Knesek Dewailly, age 42, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024 in Allen, TX after a courageous battle with cancer. Kimberly was preceded in death by her grandparents Joan and Philip Brubaker and Marcella and Bill Knesek. She is survived by her loving husband Luc, and two beautiful children Marc and Mathieu; her parents Ron and Phyllis Knesek; her sister Michelle Knesek Cortez and husband JR Cortez; her in-laws Marie Christine and Claude Dewailly; her sister-in-law Claire Dewailly and children Anais, Laura, and Nathan.

Kim was born October 11, 1981 to parents Phyllis and Ron Knesek in Houston, TX. She was a double graduate of Texas A&M University, with both her bachelors and master's in civil engineering.  Kim worked for the City of Dallas as a water resources engineer/project manager. Her family and friends always knew when it was flood season, when receiving Kim’s infamous “Turn Around Don’t Drown” emails.

She was passionate about her work and shared that enthusiasm with many of her coworkers and during her service as the Texas Floodplain Managers Association Region 10 director from 2017 to 2023.

More importantly though, Kim was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She enjoyed traveling, trying new recipes, taking care of her family, and was always the first one to jump in to help wherever help was needed.

She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Strong in her faith and smiling until the end. We love you always sweet girl.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 PM Monday January 15, 2024 at First United Methodist Church 601 S Greenville Ave, Allen, TX 75002.
