Kevin Dean Carr

Kevin Dean Carr, 61, of Murphy, Texas, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Signature Healthcare at Tanbark in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Anderson, Indiana on April 29, 1959. Kevin was the son of Charles Franklin and Evelyn Setters Carr.

Kevin moved to Texas from Indiana after graduating from ITT Technical School and worked for Texas Instruments for several years after which he became a police officer with the Plano police department. He gave up his dream job as a police officer due to back and knee issues and retired from the police department in the city of Plano, working in Information Services.  He was of the Christian faith and was a member of Creekwood United Methodist Church in Allen, Texas.  He enjoyed: all things Dallas Cowboys, wood working, collecting guns and knives, he liked to take his kids shooting, and he loved his family and dogs. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Susan Marie Sullivan Carr of Murphy Texas; his mother, Evelyn Setters Carr of Mount Sterling, Kentucky; one son, Brian Carr of Murphy, Texas and one daughter, Allison Carr of Murphy, Texas; many cousins and family members who loved him deeply.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Charles Franklin Carr.

A “come and go” visitation will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Creekwood United Methodist Church, 261 Country Club Road, Allen, Texas 75002.

Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service where all are invited to attend the committal service maintaining social distancing.
