IN LOVING MEMORY

Kevin Glen Hamlin

Jun 09 1965 - May 25 2024

Kevin Glen Hamlin, age 58, of Prosper, Texas, peacefully passed away on May 25, 2024, in Frisco, Texas. Born on June 9, 1965, in Dallas, Texas, Kevin was the only child of Pat (Boorhem) and Jerry Hamlin. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Lyndsey Hamlin; daughter, Landry Hamlin; father, Jerry Hamlin; siblings, Harriet Boorhem, Barbara Heimbach, Ross Boorhem, Ann Medlin, and Beth Downing; aunts, Cathy Bush and Gail Brantley, Debb Rooney and Becky Martin; close family friend, Earline Reliford; his in-laws and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, students, and athletes.

Kevin’s journey through life was marked by his passion for education and coaching. A proud graduate of R.L. Turner High School and Tarleton State University, he dedicated his career to teaching and mentoring thousands of students spanning almost 30 years. Whether on the football and softball fields at Lake Highlands and Ranchview, the baseball diamond in Little Elm, or as an administrator in Aubrey, Kevin’s impact was profound. He had a sense of humor that was contagious, and genuine kindness made him a friend to all who knew him.

A huge fan of the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Rangers, he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his team. He never cheered louder, though, than for his pride and joy: his daughter Landry.

While Kevin will be deeply missed by his family and friends, we know that we are better because he was in our lives.

Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Pat (Boorhem); his stepdad, William Boorhem; his brother, Bill Boorhem.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Berkshire Chapel, 9073 Berkshire Drive, Frisco, Texas, 75033, on Friday, May 31, 2024, beginning at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Cottage - hopecottage.org.
