Kennith Ray Scalf a lifelong resident of McKinney, Texas passed away September 29, 2020 at the age of 86. He was born on August 14, 1934 to Isaac Eugene Scalf and Maude Mae (Smith) Scalf in McKinney. Kennith enlisted and served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He later went into the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict and Desert Storm. Kennith retired as an E-8, Master Sargent of Communications, earning the Purple Heart. He married Melba Jean Hill on August 20, 1955 in McKinney. Kennith enjoyed golfing. He was a devoted member of Southside Assembly of God in McKinney.
Kennith is survived by his wife of 65 years, Melba Jean Scalf of McKinney, Texas; children, Karen Scalf of Bentonville, Arkansas; Sherrl Moser of Bentonville, Arkansas, Kendra Collinsworth of Melissa, Texas, and Ken Scalf, II and wife, Lynn of Princeton, Texas; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Don Scalf and wife, Kay of Plano, Texas; a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Maude Scalf; grandchild, Byron Scalf; six brothers, Wallace Scalf, Howell Scalf, Forrest Scalf, Troy Scalf, and Bill Scalf; three sister, Vannie Morgan, Margaret Scalf, and Dorothy Scalf.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon., Friday, October 2, 2020, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, and will also be live streamed on the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Facebook page. A recorded video will be available following the funeral service on Kennith’s obituary page. Interment with Military Honors is to follow in Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.
In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.
However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor Kennith and show their support to his family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.
A “come and go” visitation will be held on Thursday evening, October 1, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.
