Kenneth Delay "Hub" Myrick

Kenneth Delay “Hub” Myrick, age 83, of Plano, Texas passed away April 24, 2005 at his home. He was born on March 28, 1922, in Whitewright, Texas. He graduated from Sherman High School and attended Austin College in Sherman and received a BS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas after serving in World War II. Stationed in England in the European Theartre of Operation, he was a Captain and lead bomber pilot with the United States Army Air Corp. After more than forty years in the oil exploration business, he retired from Wood McShane and Thams in Monahans, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monahans. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Pope Myrick; daughter, Brenda Denson; and longtime friend, Britt Dowling, all of Plano; sister, Nancy and brother-in-law, Hap Johnston of Sherman; sister-in-law, Doris Murphy of Edmond, Oklahoma, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Oscar and Hudie Irene Myrick; and seven brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
