Kenneth Hodges of McKinney, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025, at the age of 88.
Kenneth was born on September 28, 1936, in Cunningham, Tennessee, to the late Calvin Eugene Hodges and Etta Pearl (McWhorter) Hodges. He graduated from Montgomery Central High School in Cunningham and married the love of his life, Betty Matthews, on July 16, 1955, in their hometown. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and love.
Kenneth dedicated most of his professional career to Ozark Airlines, where he was known for his strong work ethic and kind spirit. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Allen, Texas, where he found joy in fellowship and service.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Betty Hodges of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Cathy Fair (Steve) of Brownsburg, Indiana, Kay Svetina (John) of Allen, Texas, and Kellye Hooks (Marc) of Greenville, Texas. Kenneth was a proud grandfather to Doug Fair, Dan Fair, Ben Fair, Matt Fair, Amy Burroughs, Katie Buckner, Sarah Beth Hooks, Hannah Blacksten, and John Hooks, and a cherished great-grandfather to sixteen great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his sisters, Rebecca Baggett and Opal Kennedy (Reber), both of Clarksville, Tennessee, his sister-in-law, Angie Sapp (Raleigh) of Portland, OR, his sister-in-law Nancy Matthews of Cunningham, Tennessee, and his brother-in-law Tim Kennedy of Clarksville, Tennessee.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, John and Agnes Matthews; his brother, Gary Hodges; his sister-in-law, Portia Hodges; his sister, Delois Kennedy; his brother-in-law, Bobby Baggett, and his brother-in-law Johnny Matthews.
A memorial service to honor Kenneth's life will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013, on May 17th, 2025. . The family will begin receiving guests at 9:00 a.m., with the service to follow at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of fresh flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Allen, Texas Youth Ministry Fund.
