IN LOVING MEMORY

Kenneth Braxton Wolfe

May 21 1936 - Feb 15 2017

Kenneth Braxton Wolfe, 80, beloved husband of Sally Jarvis Wolfe and treasured father of Lisa Wolfe and Susan Newbold, joined our savior in heaven on February 15, 2017.  He was born May 21, 1936 in Vickery Texas, (annexed by Dallas in the early 1940’s) to Martin Dodd Wolfe and Virginia Morelock Wolfe.

After graduating from Arlington HS, Kenneth served in the US Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge during the end of the Korean War. He then attended Texas Christian University on the G.I. bill graduating with a Bachelor of Business Commerce degree, and married his Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity sweetheart. Kenneth proudly served as a Dallas Police Officer for 21 years, in various roles before his retirement, including detective.

After retiring from the police department Ken and Sally made McKinney their home. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and active member of Chapter 51 of the Masonic Lodge, a long time supporter of Kiwanis, the Heritage Guild, and the Collin County Republican Party. Mom and Dad were also active in their church Fellowship Class at First United Methodist.

Kenneth was known around McKinney and Collin County as a man of integrity and patriotism, who loved his family, would give you the shirt off his back, and enjoyed a good laugh more than anything. He was a man of his word and never met a stranger. Whether you knew him as Mr. Wolfe, El Lobo, Kenneth, Ken or Gampy you thought of him as “that guy” you could always count on. We are eternally grateful to have had him in our lives, and thankful that he is now resting peacefully among the heavenly host, where we look forward to seeing him again.

He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Martin Dodd Wolfe, Jr.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 55 years, Sally, daughters Lisa and Susan, granddaughters Heather Lesley, Ashley Burk (and husband Terry), Jennifer (Lauren) Fiorenza (and husband Stephen), Jayden Newbold, Marissa Newbold, and Savannah Newbold, grandson Trevor Duke, nephews and nieces John and Stacy Stone and Rich and Cynthia Jarvis with sons Jordan and Collin, and great grandchildren Tristan and Briana Lesley, Kenzie, Devlin and Rowyn Burk.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24th at First United Methodist Church in McKinney at 10:00am. There will be a reception at the church followed by burial at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas.
