IN LOVING MEMORY

Kenneth Bechtold

Nov 29 1963 - Feb 09 2019

Kenneth John Bechtold of McKinney, Texas passed away on February 9, 2019 at the age of 55.  He was born on November 29, 1963, the sixth of 7 children, in St. Louis, Missouri to Florence and John Bechtold.  Our family moved to Plano, Texas in 1972 and this became home for most of us.

Like our father, Kenny loved to build things.  Like our father, he did not have a college degree.  Like our father, he was incredibly talented and could create beautiful cabinets, furniture, and doors.  Combine their common sense with street smarts and you get a lot of “good old Bechtold engineering”.  His cabinet shop in McKinney was his lifelong dream.

Kenny loved a good time, a laugh, an adventure and he was good at this too.  Certain that many will read these words and a smile from a memory will appear on their face, possibly followed by a tear for the person we will all miss so very much.

Kenny loved his family, wife and friends.  He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Bechtold; his mother, Florence Bechtold; his brothers and sisters, Steve Bechtold (Seattle), Mike Bechtold (Tucson), Debbie & Tommy Thompson, Christine Sage, Cathy & Si White, and Donnie & Rhonda Bechtold; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and an abundance of friends.

He was preceded in death by our father, John Bechtold.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to help with funeral costs.  Kenny used to joke about being the “hardest working guy in the poorhouse.”  Well if he was poor at the bank it was because of his big heart.  He was rich beyond words with talent, with family that loved him, wonderful friends, memories, adventures, laughs and stories.  We are heartbroken and will cherish our memories.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery, 1701 S. McDonald, McKinney, Texas 75069.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
